The Lawrence High School Focus Film Festival is organized, produced, and run by the film students at Lawrence High School in Lawrence, Kansas. It features not only their own amazing films, but films from all over Northeast Kansas and is a fantastic opportunity for students to have their work seen by their peers and professionals in the filmmaking field. All submitted films are evaluated by a panel of classy judges.

This year the judges included Lawrence Journal World film critic and screenwriter Jon Niccum, local filmmaker Patrick Rea (The Empty Acre), Doug Redding, manager of Liberty Hall Videostore, University of Kansas Film/Media Studies Department Chair, Tamara Falicov and Love Liza screenwriter and BlueCat Screenplay Competition founder, Gordy Hoffman.

Categories included: comedy, drama, horror/suspense, documentary, animation, experimental, music video (original music) and music video (non-original music) and science fiction/fantasy. Awards are also given for Best Cinematography, Best Editing, Best Story, Best in Show and Fan Favorite.
